Welcome

The Gutsy Lady

Welcome! You may have found the one person who can help you finally get better or achieve your health goals. I help those who have tried it all and have still not achieved their desired level of health. If you’ve made the choice to do what it takes to get well, you have come to the right place.

Working with my team and me, you will discover what happens when food meets physiology, ‘your physiology.’ You are not what you eat, but you are what your body does with what you eat!

Sign up for my monthly newsletters and workshops where I will give you information on the foundation of functional nutrition, gut health, and helpful tips and recipes on how to keep slim (if that is a goal!), but also to get – and stay – healthy.

Health News

Health isn’t just physical. Health is interconnected with every aspect of our lives. It’s the realization of your best self.

Impacted largely by your own efforts and life habits that we create along the way, health is a journey rather than a destination.

Health comes from eating well, from resting, staying active, our relationships, living in healthy environments, from laughing – and even sometimes crying. It should be our daily intention to fill our bodies, minds, and spirit with only good stuff. Our Health News is here to help you do just that. Enjoy!

Coronavirus can attack your gut as well as your lungs. This is what we know so far

COVID-19 patients often suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms, as well as, or instead of, respiratory issues. The molecule which the virus attacks in our bodies is present not just in our lungs, but in our gastrointestinal tract as well. Nutrition News

Do you often find the topic of nutrition confusing? Do you wonder if the claims advertised on food packaging live up to their implied promises of health and well-being? Is it true that ‘Milk Does A Body Good’? Well, not for those who experience the discomfort of bloating and inflammation. What about cholesterol? is it harmful or helpful for the body? Should we all be vegan or vegetarian in order to guarantee a long and healthy life?

Although the answers to these questions and others may seem murky and not clear-cut, we must know that the science of nutrition has uncovered one important fact. Deficiencies in nutrition are clearly linked to chronic medical conditions.

Despite the many issues that surround what sources provide the best nutrition, the understanding of which foods benefit or cause harm to each of us as an individual is an essential area to be concerned with. We trust our Nutrition News will help give you some ‘food for thought’ and open the door to find answers to assist you in this quest.

Testimonials

When I first spoke with Diane about my health concerns, I really didn't know much about healthy eating other than knowing that sugar is bad for you. At the time my general eating habits weren't too bad, but I was eating LOTS of sugar and not enough of the good things that I should have been eating. My doctor said I was obese, and I was often tired because I wasn't sleeping well. Diane taught me about eating the right kinds of vegetables, proteins, and good fats and helped me to understand the importance of not only taking vitamins but taking the right kinds of vitamins. Now when I shop for groceries I know how to read labels to make the best choices, and I shop for organic foods. I feel healthier now than I've felt in years, I get better sleep, and I enjoy cooking at home rather than buying less healthy fast food. Anyone dealing with weight/health issues should consider a consultation with The Gutsy Lady ASAP.

I felt I was pretty knowledgeable about health and wellness, but Diane shocked me with her wealth of information. I had been working with a naturopathic doctor and a nutritionist with a Ph.D., as well as having a Master’s degree in Energy Medicine myself; but Diane was the one who helped me. She explained things so that I could understand them and offered solutions that made sense and didn’t break the bank. Something as easy as slowing down and chewing - really chewing - my food, helped me to make great strides with my leaky gut. I loved her fun exercise of color-coding my food to easily keep my food diary. Diane is conscientious and dependable - always going the extra mile. I learned a lot from her and felt immensely better after working with her. I highly recommend The Gutsy Lady!

I have had the pleasure of attending several of The Gutsy Lady workshops over the past two years. Each one was presented in a clear and concise manner while offered in a compassionate and supportive way. On numerous occasions, I have applied what I've learned and have shared information with friends and family. Without hesitation, I can recommend The Gutsy Lady to assist in becoming more aware of gut health and its importance for overall health.

I met Diane three and a half years ago and it was eventful get together in more ways than one. I have heart disease and after open-heart surgery in 2012 the same arteries clogged again in 2017. Three stents were implanted. Diane put me on a diet/supplement program which not only has helped my heart but my overall wellbeing. I feel more energetic and stronger. It was imperative I undertake her plan not only for a healthy lifestyle but for survival. Diane instructed me to eliminate certain foods and sugar and maintain a plant-based diet. I highly recommend The Gutsy Lady if your goal is learning about newer and better ways to a healthy life.

I was concerned about my health and I knew it was time for me to listen to my body. I decided to attend one of The Gutsy Lady seminars about functional vs. conventional medicine. I was amazed how little I knew about nutrition. As a functional nutritionist, Diane has taught me so much about the correlation between some of my health issues and the wrong foods I’ve been eating. She is very knowledgeable, dependable, patient, and caring. She listens to your concerns and questions. Diane will research any questions you have whether it’s about your health, alternative food choices, stress, or even recipes. I am happy to say that I’ve lost weight, no longer prediabetic or have high cholesterol. Diane has helped me become a healthier and happier person, and I can’t thank her enough for what she has done for me.
